  1. We have drain tile that was installed in 1980 when the home was built. We recently discovered the drain when excavating right up against the foundation where there was a small brick/foundation joinery mystery to us. We discovered that the drain tile was filled with dirt and mulch. My guess is that a squirrel was nesting in the drain tile or that since the gutters probably hadn't been cleaned in some time that leaves disintegrated finding there way to the drain tile. Have you seen this and is it necessary to replace or check the entire system? It's clearly not working because the yard is really moist.
